Reply. I drove ~900 miles on the highway at 80 or better before I added the turbo, I still managed to get about 26-28mpgs.If you get an Automatic Miata DO NOT under any circumstances but one older than 2006, the NA and NB autos are 4 speeds on a 1.6 or 1.8 so you're looking at legitimately dangerous low end torque and speed, like so slow that you won't be able to drive defensively which is incredibly important in a car this small.Pro: you will never want to own anything else, just take care of the Miata or add a second Miata when the original wears out. ;) Pros: you learn car control, especially driving in the rain Cons: you learn car control, especially driving in the rain. Wise words! Con: Small so not safe if you are a new driver.Took it offroad anyway and it did really well. I was bragging to somebody about how good this 2wd sidekick was off road, when they replied with "So its basically a lifted miata". At that point I realized, yeah, it is. Lmao. Same weight, drives the same wheels, soft top convertible, fits the same tire sizes as a lifted miata, leaks oil, lifter ...

The seller wants $8,550 I haven’t looked to long for a Miata and this one is the most desirable. No. this is really high for a 100k+ miles miata. So I decided to pick up a 6speed manual 2018 Miata for a 24 hour test drive. I wanted to understand what the hype is about. There's only enough scratch for one new car these days- and it's gotta be big enough to carry the kids and dogs and so on. Forget $70k+ Corvettes & top trim Mustangs. That hardware is rich bish territory now. The attainable sports car is the ND2 Miata.Change the water pump, as it is right behind the timing belt covers and it will be extremely easy to be changed. Just remember to put all the gaskets and sealant where necessary! If is a bit leaky, change even the valvecover gasket, is easy enough, but also there, don't forget to put sealant just around the cams. The NA Miata is an emotionally practical vehicle. Can we just stop? There isn't going to be an ND3 in 2022. Here's a quote directly from Mazda:You can't go wrong with either. HT pros: less road noise (presumably i've never rode in a prht tbh), better deterrent, its not a wear item and will last the life of the car if you treat it right. cons: super slow open/close. Rag: pros: takes three seconds to go from open/close and vice versa, can be shut/open in motion (i'd do it no faster then ...

The difference between a Miata and Porsche is a Miata is so light and underpowered that it will make you feel like a hero even if you're a shit driver. A Porsche on the other hand (boxster/cayman/911 specifically) requires much more skill as it is all around a much more lively car.

Unlike Twitter or LinkedIn, Reddit seems to have a steeper learning curve for new users, especially for those users who fall outside of the Millennial and Gen-Z cohorts. That’s to say, there’s a subreddit for virtually every topic — or you ...Oil change, coolant change, trans fluid change, diff fluid change, plugs, wires, maybe a valve cover gasket. Inspect the timing belt and if it doesn't look NEW or you know for certain it was changed X miles ago. Change it and the water pump. Inspect the accessory belts and replace if they don't look great. Replace the engine air filter. The manual transmission got a redesign for the ND model but they carried over the old autobox. Also the ND automatic has about 20% longer gears than the manual, so it's going to be slower accelerating from a stop, but will probably be pretty nice cruising on the highway. Probably a bit better gas mileage too.As much as I hate to be a pessimist, I'm not sure a turbo is anywhere close to the horizon. Plenty of market in NA/NB/NC for FM as well, so they don't exactly have to chase after a ND2 turbo for more revenue. : (. If Keith & Team get an ND2 turbo I will fly out to Colorado and kiss that man. I had two medium/small duffel bags, two backpacks, a spare tire, and a 42" longboard.

The miata is a one year old car that is under warranty and the s2000 is a seven year old car out of warranty. There are a lot of things to worry about with that s2000 to keep it in good condition: namely the top and the seats. Though, I would still rather have the s2000 in silverstone. 1. skyras • 11 yr. ago.V8 Miata's, while cool, are far more expensive and more work to make than adding a turbo/super to the BP. The upside, my opinion means jack shit. As long as you love it, that is all that matters. And while being honest, if I had the money/time to do this, I would! Drive on and enjoy friend! 120. Astronom3r • 2 yr. ago.No cool colors because statistically they are harder to sell, then they make this. I don't get why they won't offer an interesting color for the Miata and then use it on their other vehicles as well. Seems like a no brainer, especially on the CX-50 which I could see looking good in a bright color.6'4" here. Had to replace the door handles with straps and remove about 2-3 inches of foam from my seat. Theres still a piece of metal from the top that rubs my head, but luckily I live in a year-round top-down climate. Fun to drive around, but I can't really go for more than 2 hours without a break. 195/6'4.It's definitely a daily drive car unless you're going to IKEA every day, or skiing, stuff like that. Since the seats don't fold down for access to the trunk like with a 4-seater 2-door. So thats something to think about. IIRC The ND2 is also quicker than the S2000, I'm sure I'll be corrected if thats the case.Oil change, coolant change, trans fluid change, diff fluid change, plugs, wires, maybe a valve cover gasket. I think there is a reason they use them at Driving Schools. Also, and this may have changed, the power at the wheels on an RX-8 is not even close to the shaft horsepower. Now, there will be losses in the Miata as well, but you may be able to get more wheel HP on the miata with smaller engine mods. One thought that ultimately swayed my opinion was that the Miata being a two seater convertible was much different to my RS versus what a BRZ/FRS would be, so it would be a much different driving experience. Yes it is! Even with this example's worn bushings and cheap tires, everything felt tight and easy and light and functional. It is a perfect introduction into roadsters, sports cars, project cars, anything. So now, as someone who had never really experienced it, I get why Miata Is Always The Answer.I was on the hunt for older Miata's but I couldn't justify some of them with the issues they ended up having. You'll need more than that to get a 1.6 Miata to "pop and bang" so I would just go with a good hi-flow cat and save the theatircs for a more capable (i.e turbocharged) car. That said, an automatic is going to be heavier, slower, and make you feel less a part of the process, even with paddle shifters. There's also the maintenance down the road. A manual Miata gearbox is going to need very little but an oil change every now and then, something even an amateur mechanic can do.Never operate the top when it's super stiff and cold or you could pop your window (new top time).
