Not OP, but there should be a Steam icon right on the desktop you can click to launch the Steam you're used to. "Add a Game" will then be on the bottom left of the screen that pops up. If you've got the Linux version of the game, you'll want to add "starsector.sh" as the app to launch. Then switch back to Gaming Mode.

Go to vprams in starsector folder and change your xms value to something higher. steady 60 fps the only Time I had issues was on my 8gb lap top 2gb ram card. And that I just had to be selective with what I install. With the command bar mod it will tell you exactly how much you are using and have to use as well as fps.

In starsector, using the regular market gives you money. Using the black market loses you money. This mod intends to expand the options for high-tech fleet doctrines. It includes over a dozen new hulls, over a dozen new weapons, under a dozen new fighters, and about a dozen reskins, including a new Domain Battlegroup. It also includes one new low-tech light capital to give the Hegemony a fighting chance.

The system it uses to generate the "mimic systems" is a bit wonky, where you need to kill a fleet for a chance of a warp key to drop and the size of the mimic fleets depends on how big was your fleet when you got the key. Despite fighting hundreds (maybe close to a thousand) fleets, I've never found a key to a [DORITO] mimic system.
